About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior / Lead 3D Animator with strong technical expertise in Motion Capture (MoCap), character animation, and Unreal Engine 5.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience transferring and retargeting MoCap data onto custom character rigs, resolving technical animation challenges, and delivering polished, production-ready character performances. Candidates must be comfortable working across Maya and Unreal Engine within a professional animation pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

• Import, transfer, and retarget Motion Capture data onto custom character rigs.
• Work with Autodesk Maya and Unreal Engine 5 to develop and refine character animations.
• Handle FBX workflows, IK Retargeter, Control Rig, and skeletal animation systems.
• Troubleshoot skeleton mismatches, rig compatibility issues, and MoCap transfer errors.
• Perform MoCap cleanup, animation refinement, and motion polishing to achieve natural character movement.
• Integrate facial and body animation into character performances.
• Work with MetaHuman, Live Link, and Unreal Engine Sequencer where required.
• Ensure animation quality, consistency, and technical accuracy throughout the production pipeline.
• Collaborate with rigging, technical art, lighting, and production teams to resolve animation-related challenges.
• Deliver production-ready character performances suitable for cinematic sequences and high-quality 3D animated shows.

Key Requirements

• 4–7+ years of professional 3D animation experience.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Maya and Unreal Engine 5.
• Hands-on experience importing, transferring, and retargeting MoCap data to custom character rigs.
• Expertise in FBX workflows, IK Retargeter, Control Rig, and skeletal animation.
• Ability to troubleshoot skeleton mismatches, rig compatibility, and MoCap transfer issues.
• Experience in MoCap cleanup, animation polishing, and facial/body animation integration.
• Working knowledge of MetaHuman, Live Link, and Unreal Engine Sequencer.
• Strong understanding of cinematic animation pipelines and production-quality character performances.

Important Hiring Criteria

Candidates must have practical production experience with MoCap-to-character animation workflows. Experience limited to traditional keyframe animation without hands-on MoCap integration will not meet the core requirement.
