Layout design engineer

ROLE PURPOSE
Support the Infinite Fun (IF) design team with 2D layouts and drafting, 3D modelling, product and park layouts, customisation and new product development for domestic and export water-park projects. Help deliver accurate, manufacturing-ready engineering outputs in line with applicable engineering standards and customer requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare 2D layouts, drafting and 3D models using SolidWorks; use AutoCAD for park layouts, product layouts and foundation details.
• Prepare layout-level and assembly-level drawings and release clear, accurate 2D drawings to manufacturing teams and suppliers.
• Prepare and release Bills of Materials (BOMs) accurately and on time for Sales, clients and internal stakeholders.
• Support ongoing sales enquiries, existing-product layouts, product customisation, new design creation and development.
• Apply a first-time-right approach, considering design for manufacturing, assembly and serviceability, along with DFMEA considerations.
• Coordinate with Sales, clients, architects, dealers and design engineers to understand requirements and deliver project outputs.
• Track daily activities and review progress periodically with the manager, client and Sales team.
• Contribute to standardised parts and platform strategies to reduce lead time, inventory and product cost.
• Apply basic quality and measurement knowledge; help create design guidelines and a failure directory for future designs.
• Create project or slide renderings using AI tools where appropriate.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Hands-on 2D drafting and 3D modelling using SolidWorks; AutoCAD skills are required.
• Understanding of engineering drawings, layouts, assemblies, manufacturing processes and part assembly.
• Ability to prepare BOMs and produce accurate drawings for manufacturing or suppliers.
• Sound basic mechanical engineering fundamentals and practical, on-site working awareness.
