Job Overview

The Law Officer provides comprehensive legal advisory, risk mitigation, and compliance support across corporate, contractual, and regulatory operations.This role is responsible for drafting and reviewing legal agreements, overseeing litigation proceedings, ensuring statutory adherence, and advising leadership on legal strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Legal Advisory & Compliance:Provide accurate, timely legal counsel to management of the University / Institutional grouip on corporate, labor, statutory, and regulatory affairs.Ensure full organizational compliance with local and national laws.
• Contract Management & Vetting:Draft, vet, negotiate, and finalize commercial contracts, MOUs, vendor agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and legal notices.
• Litigation & Case Management:Manage and monitor suit-filed cases, consumer forum disputes, arbitration, and legal recovery proceedings.Coordinate with external advocates, legal consultants, and empaneled counsel.
• Documentation & Legal Research:Conduct in-depth research on legal precedents, statutory updates, and regulatory changes.Prepare affidavits, powers of attorney, legal opinions, and written submissions.
• Internal Governance & Dispute Resolution:Represent the organization in dispute resolution mechanisms, internal inquiries, and statutory committee meetings (e.g., POSH/Internal Complaints Committee, labor welfare boards).

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education:Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from a recognized university or institute (LL.M. is a plus).
• Bar Enrollment: Active enrollment/registration as an Advocate with the relevant Bar Council.
• Experience:5-8 years of post-qualification experience in corporate law, commercial litigation, banking, or in-house legal department roles.
