About this role
Counsel and support antenatal mothers on importance of breastfeeding
Provide one-on-one breastfeeding support to postnatal mothers within 1 hour of delivery
Help mothers with correct latching, positioning, and feeding techniques
Manage breastfeeding issues - sore nipples, engorgement, low milk supply, inverted nipplesConduct daily rounds in postnatal wards and NICU for lactation support
Educate family members about exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months
Maintain lactation counseling records and documentation
Conduct antenatal classes and lactation awareness sessions
Coordinate with Gynecologist, Pediatrician and Nursing staff
Promote hospital's breastfeeding policy as per BFHI guidelinesRole & responsibilities
Preferred candidate profile
Lactation- BPNI certified nurses
