Lactation Counselor

Role & responsibilities

• Training sessions for mothers in KMC on breastfeeding minimum two classes a week.
• OP Responsibilities – counselling mothers who come back for the NICU follow up visits
• Complete counselling for the mothers in NICU with respect to breastfeeding
• Preterm counselling

• Should be a part of milk bank – overseeing milk donation/NICU/OP
• Milk bank pasteurisation process
• Responsible for reporting quality indicators by conducting the study/ review of various data points
• Maintaining complete documentation of the milk bank
• Taking care of preventive and corrective actions.
• Support and participate in interdisciplinary performance and quality improvement process.
• Support in evaluating effectiveness of IC practice.
• Actively participating in all required infection control audit activities in the department.

Preferred candidate profile

Educational Qualifications:

Degree/Diploma in Nutrition &Dietetics

Work Experience

• Having 2-4 years of experience in Hospital Industry.
• Having specialty training in Lactation
• Good Communication and Influencing skills.
