Lab Technician

A. Sample Collection & Processing

• Collect, receive, label, and process patient samples as per laboratory protocols.
• Ensure proper sample identification, handling, storage, and disposal.
• Check samples for adequacy and reject unsuitable samples as per SOPs.
• Maintain accurate sample records and ensure timely processing.

B. Laboratory Testing & Analysis

• Perform routine diagnostic tests as per assigned laboratory section.
• Handle and operate laboratory instruments and diagnostic equipment.
• Prepare reagents, stains, and other laboratory materials as required.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
• Ensure timely completion of tests and communicate critical issues to the supervisor.

C. Equipment Maintenance

• Perform routine cleaning, calibration checks, and maintenance of laboratory instruments.
• Monitor equipment performance and report breakdowns or technical issues promptly.
• Maintain equipment usage logs and maintenance records.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of reagents, kits, and consumables.

D. Quality Control & Compliance

• Perform internal quality control (IQC) as per established procedures.
• Follow laboratory quality standards, safety guidelines, and applicable SOPs.
• Maintain proper documentation for quality control, testing, and equipment maintenance.
• Support internal audits and accreditation-related activities, wherever applicable.
