Job Summary

The Lab Technician – Idea Lab will support the day-to-day operations of the Idea Lab by maintaining equipment, assisting students and faculty during projects, ensuring laboratory safety, and facilitating innovation and prototyping activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor Idea Lab equipment, tools, and consumables.
• Assist students, faculty, and industry partners in using lab facilities and equipment.
• Support prototyping, fabrication, and innovation projects.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures and operational guidelines.
• Maintain inventory records and coordinate procurement of lab materials.
• Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and coordinate maintenance when required.
• Prepare the lab for workshops, training sessions, competitions, and industry engagement activities.
• Maintain documentation related to lab usage, equipment maintenance, and project support.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in laboratory operations, makerspaces, innovation labs, or prototyping environments is preferred.

Skills Required

• Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment and tools.
• Troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
• Inventory and documentation management.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and industry representatives.
