Job Title: L1 WAF & SSLO Engineer F5 Network Security

Job Summary

We are looking for an L1 WAF & SSLO Engineer with 3+ years of relevant experience in Network Security Operations. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring Web Application Firewall (WAF) and SSL Orchestrator (SSLO) solutions, performing initial incident analysis, conducting routine health checks, and escalating security incidents in a 247 banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor WAF dashboards, logs and alerts to identify threats such as SQL injection, Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) and DDoS attacks.
• Monitor SSL Orchestrator (SSLO) to ensure proper decryption and inspection of encrypted traffic by security tools.
• Perform daily health checks and status verification of WAF and SSLO devices.
• Identify and report hardware, availability and performance issues.
• Assist in preparing daily, weekly and monthly security incident and performance reports.
• Coordinate with Network, Server and Application Support teams to resolve security-related issues.
• Perform initial security alert analysis, validate events and distinguish genuine threats from false positives.
• Create and update incident tickets in the ITSM system.
• Escalate unresolved incidents to L2/L3 security teams with accurate documentation.
• Maintain incident records, change records and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Support security patching, signed software updates, system scans, plugin updates and routine maintenance.
• Maintain security asset inventory, including OS, database, web server, application and IP address details.
• Maintain IP addressing schemes, routing information, routes and routing tables related to firewall operations.

Job Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience
• Education: BE/B.Tech in Computer Science/IT, BCA/MCA or Master's degree in Computer Science/IT
• Certifications: CCNA / F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator (F5-CA) / CompTIA Security+ / equivalent OEM certification
• Shift: 247 rotational shifts

Preferred Candidate Profile
