About this role
Responsibilities
- Design and iterate on UI/UX across the Vi-Fi app - onboarding, core flows, and new features, from early concept through shipped screens.
- Turn product requirements and briefs into wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity UI.
- Build and maintain a consistent design system/component library so Vi-Fi feels coherent as it grows.
- Work closely with product managers and engineers throughout the build cycle - not just handing off a file, but staying involved through implementation.
- Look at how the app is actually being used - app store reviews, in-app feedback, analytics, user interviews - to spot friction and propose fixes.
- Continuously improve existing screens and flows post-launch, not only design net-new features.
- Sketch quick wireframes or prototypes to pressure-test ideas before investing in full visual design.
- Stay plugged into how young people in India actually use apps - habits, platforms, and expectations - so Vi-Fi keeps feeling native to its audience.
What were looking for
- 0-1 years of experience in UI/UX design - internships and strong college project work count.
- A portfolio that shows your process and reasoning, not just polished final screens; product (app) work is a strong plus.
- Working proficiency in Figma (or a similar tool); comfort with basic prototyping.
- A solid grasp of mobile-first design, responsive layout, and platform UI conventions (Android/iOS).
- A working understanding of UX fundamentals - information architecture, user flows, usability heuristics.
- Product thinking: curiosity about why a screen isnt converting or where users drop off, not just how it looks.
- Strong communication skills - you can explain and defend a design decision, not just present it.
Nice to have
- Experience designing a consumer mobile app end to end (even a personal or college project).
- Familiarity with basic product analytics or A/B testing concepts.
- Exposure to design systems or component libraries.
- Basic familiarity with HTML/CSS - not required, but it helps in working with developers.
- Experience designing for a youth or Gen-Z audience.
What youll get
- Real ownership on a live consumer product used by thousands of college students, not just campaign assets that run once.
- Direct mentorship from senior product and design leads.
- A front-row seat to how a product evolves based on actual user behavior and feedback.
- A collaborative team thats genuinely immersed in youth culture and how students actually use apps.
