Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated Linux & AWS Support Engineer to manage, monitor and troubleshoot Linux-based server environments and cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Linux administration, basic AWS services, web servers, databases and infrastructure monitoring tools.

The role involves ensuring system availability, maintaining infrastructure performance, supporting deployments and backups and responding to production incidents to ensure smooth and reliable operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, manage and troubleshoot Linux servers and LAMP/LEMP environments.
• Maintain and support web server technologies such as Apache and Nginx, along with MySQL databases and PHP-based applications.
• Manage and monitor AWS services including EC2, S3, IAM, RDS and CloudWatch.
• Monitor server health, application availability and infrastructure performance using tools such as Zabbix, Nagios, Grafana, Prometheus or similar platforms.
• Troubleshoot server, application, database, networking and performance-related issues.
• Analyze system and application logs and monitor CPU, memory, disk usage and other critical system metrics.
• Respond to alerts, investigate incidents and take appropriate corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Support application deployments, backup and recovery processes, SSL certificate management and routine maintenance activities.
• Perform basic security checks, access management and system updates in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain technical documentation, incident records and operational checklists.
• Participate in on-call support and incident management activities as required.
• Collaborate with development and other technical teams to resolve infrastructure and production issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Good knowledge of Linux system administration, preferably Ubuntu, CentOS or similar distributions.
• Basic hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, RDS and CloudWatch.
• Working knowledge of Apache/Nginx web servers and MySQL databases.
• Understanding of LAMP/LEMP stack environments and basic web application architecture.
• Hands-on experience with at least one infrastructure or application monitoring tool such as Zabbix, Nagios, Grafana or Prometheus.
• Basic knowledge of Bash/Shell scripting and Git.
• Understanding of server logs, resource utilization, system performance and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, TCP/IP, ports, firewalls and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and respond effectively to technical issues in a production environment.

Good to Have

• Basic knowledge of Docker and containerization.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or configuration management tools such as Ansible.
• Familiarity with Prometheus and Grafana dashboards, metrics and alerting.
• Understanding of SSL/TLS certificates, security best practices and backup/recovery strategies.
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure automation and performance optimization.
