Junior PCB Design Engineer

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior PCB Design Engineer with demonstrated experience in Altium Designer to join our hardware development team. The ideal candidate should have a foundational understanding of PCB design principles, strong proficiency in Altium, and the ability to support senior engineers in developing and refining embedded hardware systems.

The responsibilities of the engineer would include, but not be limited to, the points listed below:

1. Design and modify schematic diagrams and PCB layouts using Altium Designer, under the supervision of senior engineers.

2. Collaborate with hardware and software teams to understand system-level design requirements and translate them into PCB layouts.

3. Assist in component selection and footprint creation, ensuring alignment with project specifications.

4. Perform design rule checks (DRC) and electrical rule checks (ERC) within Altium to ensure design integrity.

5. Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs), fabrication outputs (Gerber, ODB++), and documentation packages.

6. Participate in design reviews and make iterative updates based on engineering feedback.

7. Support prototype builds and assist in resolving layout-related issues during assembly or testing.

8. Maintain design libraries and ensure compliance with internal standards and best practices.

9. Contribute to continuous improvement of the hardware development process by leveraging Altiums advanced features (e.g., 3D modeling, version control, design reuse).

10. Learn and apply relevant industry standards (e.g., IPC, UL, MIL-STD) as applicable to PCB design.

11. Stay updated with new features in Altium Designer and emerging PCB design technologies.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelors degree or diploma in Electronics and Telcommunication, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout is required.
• Basic understanding of circuit design, embedded systems, and electronic components.
• Familiarity with PCB manufacturing processes, layout techniques, and signal integrity considerations.
• Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.

Preferred (but not essential):

Exposure to power electronics systems like SMPS, inverters, or UPS.

Understanding of EMI/EMC practices and relevant compliance standards (e.g., MIL-STD-461, IPC-2221, JSS55555).
