About this role
- Monitoring Alert Handling
- Monitor network devices, servers, applications, and circuits using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Validate alerts (false positive vs. genuine issue) and follow predefined workflows.
- Perform basic troubleshooting before escalating to L2 teams.
- First-Level Troubleshooting
- Perform basic connectivity checks (ping, traceroute, port checks).
- Check switch/router/firewall reachability.
- Review device status, interface errors, CPU/memory usage.
- Execute documented tasks such as service restarts or log collection.
- Incident Management Escalation
- Log all incidents with accurate details in ITSM tools.
- Escalate unresolved issues to L2 based on SLA.
- Participate in shift handovers and maintain complete documentation.
- Documentation Reporting
- Update shift logs, incident notes, and runbooks.
- Report recurring issues to senior engineers.
- Collaboration Continuous Learning
- Coordinate with global teams as required.
- Learn advanced troubleshooting techniques and shadow senior engineers.
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN
- Basic routing switching knowledge (VLANs, STP, basic routing protocols)
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (PRTG, SolarWinds, BMC, Nagios)
- Basic firewall concepts (ACLs, NAT, VPN basics)
- OS basics: Windows/Linux resource checks
- Understanding of ITIL incident lifecycle
- Communication clarity and discipline
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Willingness to learn and follow processes
- Ability to work in 24 7 shift rotation
- Team collaboration and accountability
- 0-2 years experience in NOC, IT support, or network operations
- Bachelor s degree in IT, Computer Science, or similar field
- Preferred certifications: CCNA, CompTIA Network+, ITIL Foundation
- Language skills: English (mandatory), German B2; Spanish is a plus
