Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and technically sound Junior iOS Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a fundamental understanding of iOS application development, hands-on exposure through internships, academic projects, or completed training, and a clear understanding of the mobile application development workflow.

Candidates must have a basic working knowledge of Swift, iOS frameworks, REST APIs, and mobile device sensors. Familiarity with integrating hardware features and working with sensor data will be an advantage.

Candidates are expected to have completed their foundational learning, internship, or training before joining. The role does not include basic iOS development training, so applicants should be comfortable with the fundamentals and ready to contribute to development tasks under the guidance of the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, debug, and maintain iOS applications using Swift and relevant iOS frameworks.
• Work with REST APIs, JSON data, and third-party SDKs to integrate application features.
• Understand and implement basic mobile application workflows, including UI development, API integration, data handling, and error management.
• Work with iPhone and iPad hardware features and device sensors, including GPS, accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, and camera.
• Gain practical experience in collecting, processing, and utilizing sensor data within iOS applications.
• Implement appropriate permissions and basic error handling for device hardware and sensor access.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application bugs and performance issues. Collaborate with designers, backend developers, and other team members to deliver reliable and user-friendly applications.
• Follow established coding standards, version control practices, and development workflows.
• Stay updated with relevant iOS technologies, frameworks, and development best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in iOS development, including relevant internships or hands-on project experience.
• Basic working knowledge of Swift ; familiarity with Objective-C is an advantage. Understanding of UIKit, SwiftUI, Auto Layout, and basic iOS UI development concepts. Familiarity with Xcode, Git, debugging tools, and the process of building and running iOS applications.
• Understanding of the iOS application lifecycle, navigation, view controllers, and basic application architecture.
• Basic knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP requests, JSON parsing, and API integration. Familiarity with Core Location, Core Motion, and AVFoundation, or a clear understanding of their purpose and usage.
• Fundamental understanding of mobile device sensors, including:
• GPS and location services
• Accelerometer and gyroscope
• Magnetometer and digital compass
• Camera and motion-related sensors
• Proximity sensor and barometer, where supported by the device
• Understanding of sensor permissions, data collection, accuracy, and basic real-world use cases.
• Ability to read technical documentation, understand existing code, debug common issues, and implement assigned tasks independently at a foundational level. Good logical reasoning, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Good to Have

• Hands-on experience developing an iOS application through an internship, academic project, personal project, or completed technical training.
• Experience integrating two or more device sensors into a mobile application. Exposure to GPS-based applications, motion tracking, camera-based features, or sensor-driven applications.
• Familiarity with Core Data or other local data persistence mechanisms. Basic knowledge of background location updates and application permissions. Exposure to unit testing, automated testing, or CI/CD workflows.
• Familiarity with App Store deployment and application signing processes.

• A basic understanding of the complete iOS development workflow is essential. Candidates should be able to explain their projects, describe their code, and demonstrate their understanding of the features they have implemented.

The ability to learn independently, follow technical documentation, and apply existing knowledge to real-world development tasks is essential.
