Job Description: Junior Store Manager

Job Summary

The Junior Store Manager will support the efficient management of the University's central stores by ensuring the proper receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation of materials and equipment. The role requires maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating with

various departments, and ensuring compliance with institutional procurement and inventory policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, store, and issue materials, equipment, and consumables.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and stock registers in both physical and digital formats.
• Update and maintain inventory databases using MS Excel, ERP, or inventory management software.
• Monitor stock levels and initiate timely requisitions to prevent shortages.
• Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
• Prepare inventory reports, stock statements, and purchase requisitions.
• Coordinate with the Purchase/Procurement Department, Finance, and academic/administrative departments for material requirements.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and preservation of inventory.
• Maintain compliance with university policies, audit requirements, and statutory documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
• A diploma or certification in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field will be an added advantage.
• Basic computer proficiency, including MS Excel, MS Word, and database management.

Experience

• 2-3 years of experience in store or inventory management.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in universities, colleges, educational institutions, or similar organizations.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and record-keeping skills.
