Job Summary
Responsible for performing in-process quality assurance activities on the pharmaceutical manufacturing shop floor and ensuring that manufacturing and packaging operations comply with approved SOPs, GMP, GDP, specifications, and batch records . Typical IPQA chemist roles include quality checks, identification/reporting of non-conformities, documentation compliance, and data integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform line clearance for dispensing, manufacturing and packing areas.
- Conduct in-process checks during manufacturing and packaging.
- Monitor critical process parameters and verify compliance with approved procedures.
- Perform sampling of raw materials, in-process materials, finished products and other samples as per SOP/protocol.
- Review BMR/BPR and associated production documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Check equipment, area, cleaning, calibration and housekeeping records.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, GDP and data-integrity requirements .
- Identify and immediately report deviations, non-conformances and abnormal observations.
- Assist in deviation, CAPA, change-control and investigation activities.
- Verify batch reconciliation, yield and material usage.
- Perform routine GMP/shop-floor inspections.
- Coordinate with Production, QC, Warehouse and Engineering for quality-related activities.
- Maintain IPQA checklists, logbooks and daily reports.
- Support qualification and validation activities such as process validation and cleaning validation , where applicable.
- Assist during internal audits and regulatory inspections.
- Follow EHS requirements and maintain proper PPE and housekeeping practices.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Basic knowledge of Pharmaceutical GMP and GLP
- Good Documentation Practices ( GDP )
- Knowledge of BMR/BPR and SOPs
- Basic understanding of deviations, CAPA and change control
- Sampling and in-process inspection techniques
- Attention to detail and good observation skills
- Basic computer/MS Office skills
- Good communication and teamwork
- Willingness to work in shifts and on the manufacturing shop floor
