Jr. 3D Modelling Artist

About the Role:

3D Modeling Artists are responsible for creating high-quality hard surface and soft body 3D models. They work with tools such as Autodesk Maya and ZBrush to design clean, optimized models with excellent topology, ensuring real-world accuracy, visual quality, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proficient in modeling with Autodesk Maya and ZBrush.
• Create clean and accurate low-poly, mid-poly, and high-poly 3D models with real-world scaling, proper vertex snapping, logical naming, grouping, and excellent topology.
• Create optimized 3D models within prescribed polygon budgets and develop appropriate Levels of Detail (LODs) where required.
• Cleanup and refine raw 3D scans using ZBrush/Mudbox.
• Perform retopology of cleaned 3D scans to create optimized and production-ready models.
• Follow design references and client requirements to create 3D models in various styles while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Properly layout UVs with uniform texel density to ensure maximum texture detail and visual quality.
• Ensure models are optimized and suitable for their intended applications, including AR/VR and other real-time experiences.
• Maintain proper file organization, naming conventions, grouping, and modeling standards across projects.
• Collaborate effectively with the designated Design Project Manager and other relevant team members to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
• Communicate progress, challenges, and requirements clearly throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide inputs and suggestions to improve workflow, modeling quality, and overall modeling efficiency.
• Deliver weekly and monthly reports on project progress.

Qualifications:

• Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of 3D modeling principles, topology, UV mapping, retopology, and optimization.
• Attention to Detail: Strong ability to interpret design references and maintain real-world accuracy and visual quality.
• Problem Solving: Ability to identify modeling and optimization challenges and develop practical solutions.
• Communication: Clear and articulate verbal and written communication.
• Work Ethic: Strong dedication to meeting project timelines and maintaining quality standards.
• Openness to Feedback: Ability to handle constructive feedback and continuously improve work.
• Experience: 6 months-5 years of relevant work experience in 3D modeling.

Software Skills Required:

• Essential: Autodesk Maya, ZBrush
• Optional: Mudbox, CLO3D, Unity, Unreal
