Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Manager Purchase, Sourcing & Vendor Management to lead procurement and supplier management activities for electronics devices and electronic components used in Defence and Aerospace applications. The role requires strong experience in strategic Purchase and sourcing, vendor development, commercial negotiation, supply continuity, Handling the Buyers, cost optimization, and compliance-driven procurement environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end purchase, sourcing, procurement, and vendor management activities for electronics devices, Processors, Semiconductor Devices, electronic components, PCB, assemblies, and related materials.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project timelines, production requirements, quality standards, and business objectives.
• Identify, evaluate, onboard, and develop reliable vendors, suppliers, OEMs, distributors, and strategic sourcing partners for Defence and Aerospace requirements.
• Manage RFQ/RFP processes, quotation comparison, supplier negotiation, purchase order release, delivery follow-up, and contract finalization.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranty terms, lead times, and long-term supply agreements to achieve cost-effective procurement.
• Ensure timely availability of critical electronic components while managing risks related to obsolescence, long lead-time items, import dependency, and supply disruptions.
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, Program Management, Finance, and Stores teams to ensure smooth material planning and procurement execution.
• Drive vendor performance management through periodic reviews covering quality, cost, delivery, responsiveness, compliance, and service levels.
• Support localization, alternate source development, cost reduction, and value engineering initiatives.
• Ensure procurement compliance with internal policies, quality requirements, statutory norms, customer requirements, and Defence/Aerospace documentation standards.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor documentation, contracts, audit records, and MIS reports.
• Lead, mentor, and guide the purchase/sourcing team to deliver procurement KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience

• 15 to 18 years of experience in purchase, sourcing, procurement, supply chain, vendor development, or vendor management.
• Strong experience in procurement of electronics devices, electronic components, PCBs, connectors, cables, sensors, electromechanical parts, semiconductors, power supplies, and related assemblies.
• Prior experience working with Defence, Aerospace, Avionics, Electronics Manufacturing, EMS, or high-reliability engineering environments is preferred.
• Hands-on experience in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, vendor qualification, cost reduction, inventory planning, and supply risk management.
• Experience in handling domestic and international suppliers, distributors, OEMs, import procurement, and lead-time-sensitive components.
• Exposure to ERP/SAP/MM modules, procurement dashboards, vendor databases, and advanced MS Excel-based reporting.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.
• Additional certification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Vendor Management, SAP MM, or Contract Management will be an added advantage.

• Strong understanding of quality, delivery, cost, compliance, and risk parameters in Defence and Aerospace procurement environments.
• Ability to work with Engineering, Quality, Production, Program Management, Finance, Stores, and senior leadership teams.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, negotiation, communication, team management, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead cost reduction, localization, value engineering, inventory optimization, and supply continuity initiatives.
