Job Opening || Category Buyer (Indirect Purchase) || Varroc @Pune

Role & responsibilities

1. Manage end-to-end procurement of indirect categories

• Execute sourcing and purchasing of IT hardware, software, licenses, renewals, and networking equipment to ensure uninterrupted IT operations
• Procure non-production items such as automotive parts (harness, infotainment, electronics, ESD), tools of issue (TOI), and services to meet business requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Maintain adherence to procurement policies and guidelines to ensure transparency and compliance

2. Optimize supplier performance and cost efficiency

• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with vendors to ensure quality, delivery performance, and long-term value
• Conduct supplier negotiations and cost benchmarking to achieve savings targets and improve total cost of ownership
• Monitor supplier KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional teams

3. Ensure contract and risk management compliance

• Administer contracts for indirect purchases to minimize commercial and operational risks
• Ensure all procurements comply with legal, regulatory, and internal audit requirements to reduce exposure to risk.
• Establish and maintain multiple supply sources to mitigate the risk of shortages and ensure continuity of supply.

4. Collaborating with internal stakeholders for demand planning and fulfillment

• Work closely with IT, engineering, operations, and finance teams to understand procurement needs and align sourcing strategies
• Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate procurement cost inputs and timelines
• Conduct regular meetings with internal stakeholders to proactively identify and communicate risks related to supply disruptions, enabling timely mitigation actions

5. Drive process improvements and digitalization in procurement

• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline indirect purchasing processes to improve efficiency and control.
• Contribute to the implementation of e-procurement tools and analytics for better decision-making and spend visibility.
• Leverage SAP, Ariba, and other SCM tools to streamline and accelerate procurement processes for improved efficiency.

6. Prepare and deliver monthly MIS reports to management

• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline indirect purchasing processes to improve efficiency and control.
• Contribute to the implementation of e-procurement tools and analytics for better decision-making and spend visibility.
• Leverage SAP, Ariba, and other SCM tools to streamline and accelerate procurement processes for improved efficiency.

Preferred candidate profile

a) Qualifications

• Minimum Qualification required: BE/B tech in any stream or BSc
• Qualifications preferred: Diploma in Supply chain/MBA in supply chain/CPIM Certified/CIOP Certified

b) Work Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience
• Experience of working in MS Office Suit, SAP MM
• Knowledge of SAP Ariba, Oracle
• Knowledge of e-procurement tools
