Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP Datasphere Platform Architect & Enablement Expert to join our core Data Analytics Platform (DAP) team.

The role focuses on platform architecture, governance, administration, performance monitoring, cost optimization, and stakeholder enablement. The candidate will serve as the technical authority for the corporate SAP Datasphere platform, providing architectural guidance, supporting SAP BW migration initiatives, coordinating with the BASIS team, and ensuring secure, efficient, and governed platform usage.

This is a Platform Operations & Architecture role, not a hands-on data development role. The primary responsibility is to manage and optimize the platform while enabling business domains to adopt SAP Datasphere effectively.

Key Responsibilities

1. Architecture & Stakeholder Consulting

• Provide architectural guidance and best-practice recommendations to business domains and internal stakeholders.
• Support and guide migration initiatives from legacy SAP BW environments to SAP Datasphere.
• Establish and maintain the Master Data Space Concept across tenants.
• Provide technical guidance on Object Store architecture and integration patterns.
• Conduct architectural reviews and recommend scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions.

2. Platform Governance & Administration

• Design, configure, and manage the Transport Management System (TMS) across Development, Quality Assurance, and Production tenants.
• Coordinate with the SAP BASIS team to plan, track, and execute platform administration activities.
• Evaluate and validate incoming connection requests and ensure secure connection implementation.
• Govern platform access, security, authorizations, and operational best practices.

3. Platform Monitoring & Cost Optimization

• Monitor platform performance, storage utilization, and compute resource consumption.
• Track capacity utilization, forecast consumption, and support cost optimization initiatives.
• Establish resource governance measures, guardrails, and quotas to prevent inefficient resource usage.
• Identify opportunities to optimize queries, reduce redundant data storage, and improve platform efficiency.

4. Enablement & Knowledge Sharing

• Contribute to quarterly DAP Datasphere Community Sessions and promote knowledge sharing across business domains.
• Create and publish technical articles, platform updates, and best-practice guidelines on the intranet.
• Develop and deliver technical enablement sessions for platform users and stakeholders.
• Establish onboarding frameworks, training materials, and documentation to encourage effective SAP Datasphere adoption.

Required Skills & Experience

• Overall Experience: 9+ years in SAP Data and Analytics landscapes.
• SAP Datasphere Experience: At least 2+ years of hands-on architectural and administrative experience in SAP Datasphere and/or SAP Data Warehouse Cloud.
• Platform Architecture: Strong understanding of SAP Datasphere architecture, space administration, tenant management, and platform governance.
• Transport Management: Experience designing and managing transport processes across Development, QA, and Production environments.
• Security & Connectivity: Knowledge of connection management, security, authorization concepts, and access governance.
• SAP BW Migration: Strong understanding of SAP BW migration approaches, SAP BTP integrations, and hybrid data warehousing architectures.
• Object Store: Familiarity with cloud object storage services and their integration with SAP platforms.
• Performance & Cost Management: Experience monitoring platform consumption, capacity, performance, and cloud costs.
• Stakeholder Management: Excellent consulting, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate between BASIS/Infrastructure teams and business-facing development teams.
• Communication: Fluency in written and spoken English.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a platform-focused SAP Datasphere architect with strong governance, administration, and stakeholder enablement experience. The candidate should be comfortable providing architectural direction, coordinating platform operations, optimizing consumption, and driving adoption without being primarily responsible for developing individual data models.
