Jira Administrator

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Jira Administrator / Business Systems Analyst with strong expertise in Jira administration and hands-on experience migrating Jira from an on-premise environment to Jira Cloud. The ideal candidate will have experience with Jira Cloud configuration, migration planning, workflow management, user administration, data cleanup, and post-migration validation.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute migration activities from Jira Server/Data Center to Jira Cloud.
• Analyze existing Jira workflows, custom fields, schemes, configurations, and plugins for cloud compatibility.
• Work closely with business and technical teams to understand requirements and document solutions.
• Review and clean up legacy projects, data, configurations, and inactive user accounts before migration.
• Use Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA) and other Atlassian migration tools as required.
• Perform migration testing and validate workflows, permissions, configurations, and data integrity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve migration issues and data mapping errors.
• Support users during and after the migration and ensure a smooth transition to Jira Cloud.
• Create user guides, documentation, and training material for the new Jira Cloud environment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across different business and technical teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience as a Jira Administrator, Atlassian Administrator, Business Systems Analyst, or similar role.
• Proven experience completing at least one end-to-end Jira Server/Data Center to Jira Cloud migration.
• Strong knowledge of Jira Cloud administration, configuration, schemes, workflows, permissions, and user management.
• Hands-on experience with Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA).
• Experience with data mapping, migration validation, and troubleshooting migration issues.
• Strong understanding of Jira workflows, custom fields, screens, issue types, and permission schemes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have

• Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator certification.
• Experience migrating Confluence Server/Data Center to Confluence Cloud.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and/or REST APIs.
• Experience with Jira automation, integrations, or Atlassian Marketplace apps.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is someone who combines strong Jira administration expertise with practical Jira Cloud migration experience, can independently manage migration activities, and is comfortable working directly with business stakeholders.
