Jig Fixture Designer(Tool Room)

Design and develop jigs, fixtures, machining fixtures, gauges and tooling for forged and machined components. Design fixtures for CNC Turning, VMC, drilling, milling, tapping, boring and grinding operations.

• Read and interpret component, forging and machining drawings.
• Apply 3-2-1 locating principles, GD&T, tolerance stack-up and proper clamping concepts.
• Design manual, hydraulic and pneumatic clamping arrangements.
• Prepare 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, assemblies and BOMs.
• Select suitable standard components, materials and locating/clamping elements.
• Support fixture manufacturing, assembly, trials and prove-out on the shop floor.
• Troubleshoot fixture-related issues such as component movement, vibration, misalignment and repeatability.
• Coordinate with Production, Tool Room, Quality, Forging and CNC Programming teams.
• Implement improvements to reduce setup time, rejection, rework and tooling cost.
