We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist.

In This Role, You Will

• This is an Individual Contributor (IC) role, working closely with the POD Lead and Product Owner to deliver agreed business outcomes.
• The role sits within a strategic IT initiative team, responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and supporting solutions, with a strong focus on performance improvement and end-to-end automation of DevOps processes and procedures.
• Design and develop technology solutions that enable strategic business initiatives.
• Translate business and technical requirements into deliverable plans, provide effort estimates, and contribute throughout the Agile delivery lifecycle.
• Diagnose and resolve defects, implementing robust, sustainable fixes that reduce repeat incidents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the full delivery journey, from requirements analysis through to production rollout.
• Engage with a large, globally distributed team to shape and implement strategic, scalable solutions.
• Build software that is high quality, reusable, scalable, and supportable over the long term.
• Identify opportunities to innovate and improve tooling to enhance delivery efficiency and operational effectiveness.
• Support the Solution Architect to ensure solutions and services align with the appropriate architectures and systems. To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
• Senior experience level: 10+ years in IT delivery/software engineering, indicating a seasoned engineer comfortable with complex enterprise systems and long-running programmes.
• Team leadership: Proven lead experience for small–mid teams, covering delivery execution plus coaching/capability development (not just “task management”).
• Agile + DevOps maturity: Strong practical use of Agile and DevOps with emphasis on continuous improvement, stable releases, and reliable delivery outcomes.
• Core Java depth: Strong Java 8 fundamentals (Collections, multithreading/concurrency) and enterprise backend engineering using Spring / Spring Boot.
• Microservices delivery: Hands-on experience building and running microservices-based solutions in production (design, build, deploy, support).
• Database competence: Solid experience with Oracle and MSSQL, implying ability to handle SQL performance, data modelling, and integration with Java services.
• Integration & middleware: Familiarity with REST plus messaging middleware (MQ, Solace), suggesting event-driven integration patterns and resilient communication.
• Low-latency/high-availability engineering: Demonstrated capability with distributed data grids and building for performance and resilience at scale.
• Toolchain proficiency: Comfortable with modern engineering tools across the SDLC—IDEs (Eclipse/IntelliJ), version control (Git), tracking (Jira), build (Maven), CI/CD (Jenkins), deployment automation (Ansible).
• Production ownership + stakeholder management: Strong record of implementations and production support in global matrix environments; clear communication, ownership mindset, analytical problem-solving, and pragmatic risk/quality balance aligned to bank standards.
