Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and proactive L2 Java Application Support Engineer to join our team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java/J2EE, Kafka, SQL, Unix Shell Scripting, and Git. The role involves application support, troubleshooting production issues, code analysis, defect fixes, and ensuring smooth functioning of business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L2 production support for Java-based applications.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application incidents within defined SLAs.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.
• Support maintenance and enhancement activities for existing applications.
• Monitor application performance and ensure system stability.
• Work closely with development, testing, and infrastructure teams for issue resolution.
• Review logs, debug code, and identify performance bottlenecks.
• Execute SQL queries for data validation and issue analysis.
• Develop and maintain Unix Shell scripts for automation and operational tasks.
• Use Git/GitHub/GitLab for source code management and deployment support.
• Participate in release management and production deployments.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and support runbooks.

Required Skills

• Strong programming and analytical skills in Core Java (Java 8+).
• Hands-on experience with Java/J2EE applications.
• Good knowledge of Kafka.
• Strong SQL skills and database querying experience.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux and Shell Scripting.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, or GitLab.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Positive attitude, ownership mindset, and willingness to learn new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in application maintenance and production support environments.
• Exposure to incident management and ticketing tools.
• Understanding of application monitoring and logging tools.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies is an added advantage.
