Build & Environment Management

• Java 17, Maven multi-module projects, dependency management, and build profiles.
  
• Working with corporate repositories, Maven proxy settings, SSH tunneling, and network troubleshooting.
  
• PostgreSQL setup, schema lifecycle (create/drop/migrate), and environment-specific DB configuration handling.
  
• Payara Micro and Quarkus startup/debugging, VM arguments, system properties, and deployment workflows.
  
• Angular basic skills (CRSA, VGA).
  

Testing

• JUnit and Failsafe basics, JMeter profile-based test execution, interpreting failures, and test environment targeting.
  
• WireMock usage, mock strategy (local vs. shared test hubs), and knowing when to switch to real downstream services.
  

Monitoring & Observability

• OpenTelemetry Java agent setup and trace troubleshooting.
  
• Prometheus for metrics collection, monitoring, and alerting.
  
• Grafana for dashboards, runtime health monitoring, incident triage, and performance analysis.
  

Architecture & Development

• Microservice Architecture: Understand service boundaries, loose coupling, ownership, and resilient communication patterns across services.

• BMW Coding & Architecture Guidelines: Apply internal standards consistently for naming, security, logging, error handling, testability, and code-review quality.
  

AWS & Platform Operations

• Docker: Build and maintain reproducible container images for local development, testing, and deployment pipelines.
  
• Kubernetes: Basic usage of Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, and basic rollout troubleshooting.
  
• AWS VPC, Security Groups, EC2 & RDS: Understand network segmentation, access control, compute hosting, and managed database operations.
  
• AWS Lambda: Use serverless functions for event-driven integrations and lightweight tasks, with awareness of runtime and observability limitations.
  
• AWS FIS: Basic fault-injection skills to validate service resilience and failure-handling behavior in controlled scenarios.
  
• Terraform: Manage infrastructure as code with versioned, repeatable, and auditable provisioning workflows.
  

DevOps, Delivery & Observability

• CI/CD with GitHub Actions: Build reliable pipelines for build, testing, security checks, artifact handling, and deployment gating.
  
• Prometheus: Understand metric collection, alert rules, and service health/SLO monitoring basics.
