Java Developer

We are looking for a skilled Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade software solutions for Grid Automation systems. The role involves working on a Grid Automation Software Configuration Tool (SCE) that supports automation, monitoring, and control of power grid operations.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on Java development experience, solid problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements, user stories, and use cases into functional Java applications
• Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code
• Ensure high performance, scalability, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Identify performance bottlenecks and bugs, and implement effective solutions
• Maintain high code quality through clean architecture, documentation, and automation
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle (design, development, testing, release)
• Ensure application designs adhere to defined technical and functional specifications
• Prepare, package, and release software components for production environments

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or STEM-related field
• 35 years of professional experience in Java application development
• Strong proficiency in Core Java and Java 6
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts
• Experience with design patterns and architectural best practices
• Ability to gather requirements and work closely with stakeholders to define development scope
• Basic understanding of JVM behavior, limitations, and performance considerations
• Experience with unit testing and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure
• Experience with build tools such as Maven or Ant
• Working knowledge of JIRA and Confluence
• Basic experience with version control systems (Git or similar)
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodology
• Basic knowledge of operating systems and networking concepts
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Java ObjectStore PSE / PSE Pro
