Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Backend Developer with strong experience (7+ years) in building scalable, secure, and highperformance backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Kafka, and AWS. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on expertise across development, integration, test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS cloud deployments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, test, deploy, and support enterprise-grade solutions.

This role requires deep technical proficiency, strong analytical capability, and an ability to work in an agile, fast-paced environment.

Core Technical Skills

1. Programming Languages & Frameworks

• Java 17 (preferred); strong experience in Java 8+
• Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Framework, Spring Data JPA
• Spring Security for authentication & authorization
• RESTful API design and development
• Strong understanding of Core Java concepts, multithreading, collections, generics, functional programming (Lambdas/Streams)

2. Microservices & Integration

• Hands-on experience in designing and developing microservices architectures
• Strong understanding of service discovery, API gateways, inter-service communication
• Ability to write and maintain integration tests using JUnit
• Knowledge of Kafka:
• Topics, partitions, producers/consumers
• Consumer groups
• Replica topics
• Event-driven design

3. Test Automation Skills

• Writing unit tests using JUnit
• API Automation using Spring Boot Test

4. CI/CD, DevOps & Cloud

Hands-on experience with:

AWS Services:

• AWS CodePipeline
• AWS CodeBuild
• AWS CloudWatch (logs, metrics, troubleshooting)
• AWS ECS (Fargate)

• S3 Buckets
• RDS (PostgreSQL)

CI/CD Tools:

• Git / GitHub
• Jenkins
• Code Pipeline / GitHub Actions
• Containerization using Docker (images, containers, registries)

5. Development & Code Quality Tools

• IDEs: IntelliJ IDEA, VS Code
• Documentation: Confluence
• Project Management: JIRA
• Static analysis & code quality:

6. Database Skills

• Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL or Dynamo DB
• Good understanding of:
• Joins, indexing, performance tuning
• Data modeling
• Exposure to MongoDB (Good to have)

7. Methodologies & Principles

• Agile (Scrum/Kanban)
• Understanding of SDLC (Dev QA UAT Prod)
• Strong adherence to DRY, SOLID principles
• Experience diagnosing issues in distributed environments
• Strong debugging skills across logs, cloud metrics, and pipelines

8. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend microservices using Java & Spring Boot
• Build scalable, secure APIs and integrate with enterprise systems
• Develop event-driven pipelines using Kafka
• Implement CI/CD workflows for seamless deployments
• Write unit, integration, and automated tests
• Participate in architecture reviews and code reviews
• Investigate production issues using AWS CloudWatch & logging frameworks
• Collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps teams across full SDLC
• Ensure code quality using static analysis and coverage tools
• Optimize application performance and database queries
• Maintain proper documentation using Confluence

9. Required Experience

• 310+ years of hands-on backend development
• Strong production experience in Java 8+ and Spring Boot
• Deep understanding of microservices, REST APIs, and Kafka
• Experience deploying applications in AWS Cloud
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing
