Java Back End Developer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer / Java Engineer with strong expertise in Java 17+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and MongoDB Atlas.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building and operating production-grade backend services, with a strong focus on API design, security, scalability, performance, reliability, testing, and maintainability.

This role follows a Build & Run mindset, requiring the engineer to take end-to-end ownership from development and deployment through production support, incident management, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java 17+, Spring Boot & Maven.
• Build robust RESTful APIs with strong understanding of API versioning, pagination, error handling, idempotency, backward compatibility, and resilience patterns.
• Develop optimized batch processing/data-loading solutions.
• Implement secure services using OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, service-to-service authentication, and HashiCorp Vault.
• Develop and maintain Kafka producers and consumers and work with event-driven/messaging patterns.
• Build automated unit, integration, API, and end-to-end tests using JUnit, Bruno/Postman, Playwright, etc.
• Optimize application performance through profiling, thread/heap analysis, caching, rate limiting, logging, and graceful degradation.
• Deploy, troubleshoot, and operate applications on Kubernetes (K8s).
• Build and manage Docker/container images.
• Develop and support CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, and automated deployments.
• Follow strong Git branching, merge request, and code review practices.
• Take ownership of production incidents, troubleshooting, RCA, and operational support with a strong Build & Run mindset.
• Perform Linux troubleshooting, including logs, processes, and basic networking.
• Work with MongoDB Atlas for backend data storage and application integration.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, squad members, engineering teams, and partner teams to refine requirements and ensure production readiness.
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and Jira-based delivery.
