Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced IT professional with strong exposure to the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, particularly API, Formulations, and Sterile Injectables.

The candidate will be responsible for managing IT systems supporting manufacturing and Quality Control (QC) operations, ensuring regular data backups for QC instruments, maintaining data integrity, and providing technology-driven solutions to manufacturing and quality-related processes.

The ideal candidate should understand pharmaceutical manufacturing workflows, QC laboratory operations, and applicable GMP and data integrity requirements, and be capable of translating operational requirements into effective IT solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Pharmaceutical Manufacturing & Quality Control Support

• Understand end-to-end pharmaceutical manufacturing processes across API, Formulations, and Sterile Injectables.
• Work closely with Production, Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), and Engineering teams to understand operational and technical requirements.
• Identify process-related challenges and provide appropriate IT solutions to improve efficiency, reliability, and data management.
• Support IT systems used in manufacturing operations and QC laboratories.

2. QC Instrument Data Management & Backup

• Take ownership of scheduled weekly and monthly data backups for QC instruments and associated systems.
• Ensure the availability, integrity, security, and retrievability of QC instrument data.
• Establish and maintain documented backup schedules, backup records, and periodic verification of backup completeness and restoration.
• Coordinate with QC teams and instrument vendors to resolve data storage, retrieval, connectivity, and system-related issues.
• Ensure appropriate access controls and secure storage of electronic records.

3. IT Systems & Infrastructure Management

• Manage IT infrastructure supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, including servers, networks, storage, and backup systems.
• Support applications, databases, laboratory systems, and manufacturing-related software.
• Ensure system availability, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and disaster recovery.
• Coordinate with vendors for system integration, application support, and technical issue resolution.

4. GMP Compliance & Data Integrity

• Ensure IT systems supporting regulated operations comply with applicable GMP, GxP, and data integrity requirements.
• Support audit readiness, Computer System Validation (CSV), SOPs, change control, and IT documentation, as applicable.
• Maintain appropriate controls for electronic records, user access, data backup, and recovery.
• Support compliance with applicable electronic records requirements, including FDA 21 CFR Part 11, wherever relevant.

5. Technical Support & Process Improvement

• Analyse operational challenges in manufacturing and QC processes and recommend practical technology solutions.
• Provide technical support for instrument connectivity, data transfer, application performance, and system integration.
• Work with cross-functional teams to minimise system downtime and ensure business continuity.
• Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency through digitalisation and automation.

6. Cybersecurity, Vendor & Team Management

• Implement and monitor cybersecurity controls, user access management, antivirus, firewalls, and data protection measures.
• Manage IT assets, software licences, vendors, service agreements, and support activities.
• Lead the IT support team, monitor issue resolution, and ensure timely technical assistance.
• Support IT budgeting, infrastructure planning, and implementation of technology projects.

• Relevant experience in IT operations within the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
• Hands-on exposure to manufacturing and QC laboratory environments.
• Understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing workflows and Quality Control processes.
• Experience managing data backups for QC instruments and maintaining data integrity.
• Ability to understand operational problems and implement suitable IT solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred: Candidates with experience in API, Formulations, or Sterile Injectable manufacturing facilities and exposure to GMP-regulated QC laboratories.
