IT Manager - IT Infrastructure & Data Engineering

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Manager to oversee technology infrastructure, data engineering operations, and technology-driven initiatives across the organization. The role requires a combination of IT operations leadership and hands-on understanding of cloud, data pipelines, application technologies, and databases. The ideal candidate should have strong experience with AWS, data engineering, SQL, Python, and Java, along with the ability to manage technical teams and deliver reliable, scalable technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and oversee day-to-day IT infrastructure, application, and data engineering operations.

- Lead technology initiatives involving cloud infrastructure, data platforms, applications, and enterprise systems.

- Design and maintain scalable data pipelines for collecting, processing, transforming, and delivering business data.

- Manage AWS-based infrastructure and ensure availability, scalability, security, and performance of cloud environments.

- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and maintain data processing and application solutions.

- Oversee development and maintenance of applications and backend services using Java and Python.

- Work with SQL databases to support data management, reporting, data validation, and application requirements.

- Monitor system performance, availability, capacity, and resource utilization across IT environments.

- Establish processes for incident management, problem management, change management, and service availability.

- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive IT and data operations to improve efficiency and reliability.

- Coordinate with internal teams and technology vendors for infrastructure implementation, troubleshooting, and support.

- Ensure appropriate access controls, backup mechanisms, monitoring, and security practices are implemented across IT environments.

- Support cloud migration, infrastructure modernization, and digital transformation initiatives.

- Work with data engineering teams to improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of data pipelines.

- Review technical designs and provide guidance on infrastructure and application architecture.

- Establish and monitor SLAs, operational metrics, system availability, and service performance.

- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, application, database, and data pipeline issues.

- Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and disaster recovery documentation.

- Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies, security standards, and governance requirements.

- Manage and mentor IT and technical team members and support their professional development.

- Prepare regular reports on infrastructure performance, operational issues, project progress, and technology initiatives for management.

Required Skills:

- 8 - 12 years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud operations, data engineering, application support, or related technology functions.

- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure management.

- Good understanding of data engineering concepts and end-to-end data pipelines.

- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.

- Proficiency in Python for automation, data processing, and scripting.

- Good understanding of Java-based applications and backend technologies.

- Experience with cloud-based data platforms and data processing environments.

- Knowledge of application monitoring, logging, performance management, and troubleshooting.

- Experience with IT service management, incident management, change management, and operational processes.

- Understanding of networking, servers, storage, security, and cloud infrastructure concepts.

- Experience with automation and scripting for infrastructure and operational activities.

- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, deployment processes, and software development practices.

- Strong understanding of information security and access management principles.

- Experience managing technology vendors and external service providers.

- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to manage multiple technology initiatives and prioritize operational requirements effectively.
