IPD Nurse Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to inpatients throughout their hospital stay.
• Assess patients’ health conditions and monitor vital signs regularly.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, injections, and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatment and report any changes promptly.
• Assist doctors during rounds, examinations, and medical procedures.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, procedures, and surgeries.
• Maintain accurate nursing records, patient charts, and medication documentation.
• Perform wound care, dressing changes, catheter care, and other routine nursing procedures.
• Ensure proper infection-control and patient-safety practices.
• Provide pre- and post-operative nursing care as required.
• Educate patients and their attendants regarding medications, treatment, and discharge instructions.
• Coordinate with doctors and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable patient environment.
• Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
