Job Responsibilities of IPD Billing Executive in Hospital

• Verify patient admission details and registration information.
• Open and maintain patient billing accounts in the hospital software.
• Enter daily charges for room rent, ICU, doctor visits, nursing care, procedures, and investigations.
• Verify pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, and consumable charges.
• Check daily billing entries to avoid missed or duplicate charges.
• Prepare and verify the final bill at the time of patient discharge.
• Adjust advance payments, deposits, discounts, and outstanding balances.
• Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, pharmacy, and other departments for billing-related issues.
• Verify package rates, tariff details, and additional charges.
• Coordinate with the insurance and TPA departments for cashless patients.
• Check insurance approvals and billing limits.
• Assist in preparing documents for insurance claims and reimbursement.
• Collect payments through cash, card, UPI, or other approved modes.
• Issue payment receipts and maintain billing records.
• Process refunds and billing adjustments after approval.
• Explain hospital bills to patients and their attendants.
• Coordinate with the discharge department to ensure timely bill clearance.
• Resolve billing discrepancies and patient billing queries.
• Maintain accurate records of bills, payments, and refunds.
• Ensure compliance with hospital billing policies and procedures.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and data security.
• Prepare daily billing reports and submit them to the billing manager.
• Perform other billing-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
