Ipd Billing Executive

Role & responsibilities

1. Daily Billing & Charge Capture

• Track Patient Charges: Continuously post and update charges for room rent, doctor/consultant visits, nursing care, pharmacy, diagnostics, and consumables.
• Cross-Departmental Coordination: Work closely with nursing stations, the pharmacy, the operation theatre (OT), and diagnostic labs to ensure no billable services are missed.
• Verify Records: Audit admission files, treatment sheets, and procedure notes against entered charges.

2. Discharge & Final Bill Processing

• Prepare Final Bills: Compile accurate interim and final bills when a patient is ready for discharge, keeping within the hospitals target turnaround time (TAT).
• Manage Advances & Deposits: Handle initial deposit receipts, interim payments, refunds, and final balance settlements.
• Explain Bills to Families: Walk patients or their attendants through the breakdown of charges, package inclusions, and payment options with transparency.
