IoT Engineer (Development & Implementation)

Role Summary

We are seeking a hands-on IoT Engineer with end-to-end expertise in designing, developing, and deploying scalable Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between physical hardware (sensors, actuators, edge gateways) and cloud/on-premise data platforms. You will be responsible for taking IoT initiatives from laboratory prototyping through to ruggedized field implementation across distributed sites.

Key Responsibilities

● End-to-End Architecture: Design and build full-stack IoT architectures encompassing sensor nodes, edge computing gateways, communication networks, and central data ingestion pipelines.

● Firmware & Edge Development: Write, test, and optimize embedded code and edge software (C/C++, Python, Embedded Linux) for microcontrollers and industrial gateways.

● Protocol & Network Integration: Implement reliable device-to-cloud and device-to-device communication using industrial and IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP, Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC-UA, HTTP/HTTPS, LoRaWAN, BLE, or Cellular/4G/5G).

● Field Deployment & Commissioning: Lead on-site installation, sensor calibration, gateway provisioning, and network troubleshooting across operational facilities.

● Data Pipeline & Dashboarding: Integrate telemetry streams into time-series databases (InfluxDB, TimescaleDB) and enterprise systems (ERP/SCADA/Cloud IoT cores), building real-time monitoring and alerting dashboards.

● Security & Fleet Management: Implement device-level security (TLS/SSL, secure boot, encrypted credentials) and manage Over-The-Air (OTA) firmware updates for deployed fleets.

● Reliability & Maintenance: Diagnose hardware failures, signal dropouts, and power-consumption bottlenecks in harsh or remote operating environments.

Required Qualifications & Skills

● Education: B.Tech/B.E. in Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Instrumentation, Computer Science, or a related engineering field.

● Experience: 3–6+ years of demonstrable experience in full-cycle IoT development and field deployment (Industrial IoT/IIoT experience is highly preferred).

● Hardware Proficiency: Hands-on experience with MCUs/SoCs (ESP32, STM32, ARM Cortex), Single Board Computers (Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, Industrial Edge PCs), and industrial PLCs/sensors.

● Software & Cloud: Proficiency in C/C++ and Python; experience with Docker at the edge, Linux administration, and IoT platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, ThingsBoard, or custom self-hosted stacks).

● Tooling: Ability to use hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers) and schematic/PCB review tools.
