Interior Designer

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare space planning and layout plans based on client requirements and project brief.
• Develop concept designs and concept presentations for Design & Build projects.
• Prepare mood boards, material boards, colour schemes and finish selections.
• Prepare and present design concepts to clients and incorporate feedback.
• Develop detailed shop drawings and working drawings for execution.
• Prepare plans, elevations, sections, ceiling layouts, flooring layouts, furniture layouts and joinery details.
• Prepare detailed drawings for carpentry, partitions, false ceilings, wall paneling, furniture and other interior works.
• Coordinate drawings with MEP services and other project requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants and Project Managers for design clarifications and approvals.
• Prepare and follow up on material/sample approval submissions.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Project teams to ensure approved materials are used at site.
• Conduct regular site visits to check that execution matches approved designs and drawings.
• Identify and report any design/execution variations and coordinate corrective action.
• Coordinate with the site team to resolve design and technical issues.
• Prepare and maintain as-built drawings based on actual site execution.
• Maintain drawing registers, revisions, approvals and other design documentation.
• Ensure all drawings and design submissions are issued within project timelines.

Experience

• 25 years of relevant experience in interior design/technical design.
• Experience in commercial interior fit-outs, Design & Build or turnkey projects preferred.
• Candidates with strong shop drawing and site coordination experience will be preferred.

A technically strong and detail-oriented designer who can handle the process from concept layout client approval working/shop drawings material approvals site execution as-built drawings.
