Instrumentation Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

• Ensure preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of all plant instrumentation and control systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot field instruments such as pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, flow meters, level transmitters, load cells, thermocouples, and control valves.
• Handle instrumentation systems associated with cupola furnaces, induction furnaces, pipe casting machines, annealing furnaces, zinc coating, cement lining, hydrotesting, and finishing lines.
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, HMI, DCS, and industrial automation systems.
• Ensure proper functioning of temperature control systems, pressure control loops, flow control systems, and process interlocks.
• Perform calibration of instruments and maintain calibration records as per plant standards.
• Identify root causes of instrumentation failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with Production, Mechanical, Electrical, Quality, and Safety departments to ensure smooth plant operations.
• Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements to reduce breakdowns and increase plant reliability.
• Maintain instrumentation spares inventory and coordinate with Purchase for critical spares procurement.
• Ensure compliance with plant safety standards, electrical safety, and permit-to-work procedures.
• Maintain documentation of instrumentation drawings, loop diagrams, P&IDs, calibration certificates, and maintenance reports.
• Support installation, commissioning, and modification of new instrumentation and automation equipment.
• Participate in energy-saving initiatives, process optimization, and continuous improvement activities.
• Ensure proper functioning of weighing systems, dosing systems, and process monitoring instruments.
• Train technicians and operators on instrumentation maintenance and safe operating practices.
