About this role
Role & responsibilities
to maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and optimize instrumentation and control systems in a paper manufacturing plant. The candidate will ensure reliable operation of process instruments, control valves, PLCs, DCS, and automation systems to minimize downtime and improve plant efficiency.
- Maintain and troubleshoot field instruments, transmitters, sensors, control valves, and actuators.
- Perform calibration of pressure, temperature, flow, level, consistency, and other process instruments.
- Maintain PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI, and related automation systems.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation issues in stock preparation, pulp processing, paper machines, and utility systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot instruments used in steam, condensate, compressed air, water treatment, and chemical dosing systems.
- Inspect and maintain control loops, PID controllers, positioners, and pneumatic systems.
- Support paper machine instrumentation, including basis-weight, moisture, and profile measurement systems, where applicable.
- Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, production, and utility teams to resolve plant issues.
Preferred candidate profile BE/BTECH (Instrumentation)with exp in process industry /
- Experience in a pulp and paper manufacturing plant.
- Exposure to paper machines, stock preparation, pulp mill operations, and utility systems.
- Experience with automation platforms such as Siemens, ABB, Honeywell, Yokogawa, or Emerson, depending on the plant's installed systems.
- Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance planning.
- Pressure, temperature, flow, and level measurement instruments.
- Calibration of transmitters and control valves.
- PLC/DCS troubleshooting and control-loop tuning.
- Knowledge of 420 mA, HART, and industrial communication protocols.
- Pneumatic and electro-pneumatic control systems.
- Instrument drawings, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and wiring diagrams.
