Information Technology (IT) - Network Administrator / Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Network Infrastructure Management

• Install, configure, monitor, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and internet connectivity across campus locations.
• Manage and support network devices including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless controllers, and access points.
• Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks.
• Ensure high availability and optimal performance of network services.

Network Security

• Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, VLANs, and access controls.
• Monitor network activity for security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and audit teams to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Support periodic security assessments, audits, and remediation activities.

Incident Management & Troubleshooting

• Diagnose and resolve network outages, performance issues, and connectivity challenges.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for issue resolution and escalation management.

Monitoring & Documentation

• Maintain accurate documentation of network topology, configurations, IP addressing schemes, and SOPs.
• Generate periodic reports on network availability, utilization, incidents, and improvements.
• Ensure asset inventories and configuration records are regularly updated.

Project & Infrastructure Support

• Participate in network expansion, upgrades, and technology implementation projects.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend infrastructure improvements.
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives related to network systems.

Compliance & Audits

• Ensure network infrastructure adheres to enterprise standards and audit requirements.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and evidence.
• Implement controls and best practices aligned with global IT governance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, or a related field.
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto, or equivalent preferred.
• Relevant certifications in network security will be an added advantage.

Experience

• 3-6 years of hands-on experience in network administration and infrastructure management.
• Experience managing enterprise-grade networking environments.
• Exposure to multi-site network environments is preferred.
• Prior experience in corporate organizations or large institutions is desirable.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Routing & Switching.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Fortinet, Aruba, HP, or equivalent networking technologies.
• Experience with firewall configuration and management.
• Understanding of wireless networking architecture.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and security best practices.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and infrastructure documentation.
