Information Technology Asset Management Specialist

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

• Strong experience with one or more ITAM tools: ServiceNow ITAM, Flexera, Snow, Ivanti, or BMC Remedy.
• Good understanding of ITSM, CMDB, and Discovery tools (e.g., ServiceNow Discovery, SCCM, Tanium).
• Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, or Excel for reporting and data analysis.
• Familiarity with license models (perpetual, SaaS, subscription) and vendor licensing (Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, etc.).
• Knowledge of cloud asset management (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Functional Skills

• Strong understanding of ITIL processes, especially Configuration Management and Change Management.
• Ability to define and implement asset governance and lifecycle management processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management across technical and business teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• ITIL Foundation certification (preferred).
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – ITAM / SAM / HAM (or equivalent vendor certification) is an advantage.
• 7–11 years of overall IT experience, with at least 5 years focused on IT Asset Management tools and processes.
