Information Security Engineer

Role & Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring security alerts and analysing potential threats
• Support vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities
• Help in reviewing system logs and identifying suspicious behaviour
• Support incident response activities and documentation
• Conduct research on emerging cybersecurity threats and trends
• Help maintain security documentation and reports

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Security, IT, or related field
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
• Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux)
• Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals (OWASP Top 10, malware, phishing)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Experience with security tools (e.g., Wireshark, Nmap, Burp Suite)
• Basic scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)
• Understanding of SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk)
• Familiarity with cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP basics)
• Relevant certifications (or pursuing) like Security+, CEH
