THE OPPORTUNITY

A large American retail giant is entering the next chapter of its India Technology & Innovation Centre (ITIC) and we are looking for the leader to define it.

This is a rare opportunity to take a high-potential Global Capability Center and turn it into one of the company's most strategically important hubs worldwide: not just a delivery engine, but a source of innovation, talent, and competitive advantage for the business globally.

As India GCC Leader / Country Head, you will own ITIC's strategy, operations, culture, and stakeholder ecosystem end-to-end while partnering closely with global technology and business leadership to shape how India contributes to the company's future.

We are looking for a leader who has built, scaled, or transformed a GCC /global COEs before; who is comfortable operating inside a complex global matrix; and who can move fluidly between long-term strategy and hands-on execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

GCC Strategy & Growth

• Define and execute ITIC's strategy in lockstep with the company's global technology and business priorities.
• Scale ITIC's capabilities, organization, and leadership bench as the center grows in scope and complexity.
• Build and evolve Centers of Excellence and strategic capabilities that extend beyond traditional delivery.
• Lead transitions and transformation initiatives that bring new capability into ITIC.
• Lead all the Tower leaders in India.

Global & Matrix Leadership

• Partner with global technology and business leaders to align priorities, investment, resourcing, and outcomes.
• Navigate complex matrix structures and influence senior stakeholders across geographies and functions.
• Establish strong governance, accountability, and operating rhythms that connect India and global teams as one team.

Technology & Business Impact

• Position ITIC as a strategic technology and innovation partner — not just a delivery center.
• Drive productivity, automation, and operational excellence across the center.
• Identify and act on opportunities to leverage India's talent and technology ecosystem for business value.

People & Culture

• Build a high-performing leadership team and a strong succession pipeline.
• Shape a culture of innovation, accountability, inclusion, and collaboration.
• Partner with People & Culture to attract, develop, and retain critical talent.

Operational & Financial Leadership

• Own India workforce, operational performance, and financial planning.
• Drive cost effectiveness without compromising quality, capability, or employee experience.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• 20+ years of progressive leadership experience, ideally spanning technology, transformation, operations, or GCC environments.
• A track record of building, scaling, or transforming a Global Capability Center in India.
• Deep experience operating inside complex global matrix organizations.
• Experience leading large-scale transitions, transformations, or periods of organizational growth.
• Strong executive presence, with a demonstrated ability to influence C-suite and global stakeholders.
• Sharp understanding of India's technology talent market and GCC ecosystem.
• Strong business acumen, financial discipline, and organizational leadership.
• People Leadership skills
