Job Summary

V2 Retail Ltd. is seeking an experienced and result-driven Putaway Head to lead the Putaway function at its Bangalore Distribution Centre. The role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate putaway of inbound inventory, optimizing warehouse storage utilization, maintaining inventory accuracy, and driving operational efficiency. The incumbent will coordinate closely with Receiving, MSA, Inventory Control, and Warehouse Operations teams to ensure seamless material flow and adherence to warehouse SOPs.

Key Responsibilities

Putaway Operations Management

• Lead and manage end-to-end putaway operations for all inbound inventory received at the Distribution Centre.
• Ensure timely putaway of stocks from receiving areas to designated storage locations as per operational SLAs.
• Monitor daily putaway volumes and ensure backlog-free operations.
• Ensure proper bin allocation, location mapping, and storage discipline across the warehouse.
• Drive efficient utilization of warehouse space while maintaining accessibility and inventory accuracy.

Inventory Accuracy & Stock Control

• Ensure accurate system and physical stock placement during putaway activities.
• Monitor location-wise inventory accuracy and resolve stock mismatches.
• Ensure compliance with FIFO/FEFO inventory management practices.
• Coordinate with Inventory and MSA teams to maintain stock integrity and location accuracy.
• Support cycle counts, stock audits, and reconciliation activities.

Process Compliance & Productivity

• Ensure adherence to warehouse SOPs, safety standards, and operational guidelines.
• Monitor putaway productivity, turnaround time (TAT), and manpower efficiency.
• Identify process bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve operational performance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance putaway efficiency and storage optimization.

Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead, supervise, and develop the Putaway team to achieve operational targets.
• Allocate manpower and resources based on inbound volume and business requirements.
• Coordinate with Receiving, MSA, Inventory, Picking, and Dispatch teams for smooth warehouse operations.
• Conduct regular team reviews and performance monitoring.

System & Reporting Management

• Ensure accurate and timely SAP/WMS transactions related to putaway activities.
• Monitor pending putaway reports and take corrective action to minimize ageing inventory.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports on putaway performance, productivity, and inventory accuracy.
• Analyze operational data and provide recommendations for process improvements.
