In-House Architect - Client-Side Design & Site Coordination

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the client-side architectural representative and coordinate closely with company management, the external architectural consultant, other consultants, contractors, and the construction team.
• Understand the company's functional requirements, design preferences, and management instructions, and ensure that these are accurately reflected in the architectural drawings and subsequently implemented at site.
• Review architectural drawings prepared by the external consultant, including plans, elevations, sections, layouts, details, and other design documents.
• Consolidate and communicate management/client comments to the external architect and follow up until the required revisions are properly incorporated.
• Independently prepare, modify, or update architectural plans, elevations, sections, layouts, details, and sketches whenever required to support faster decision-making and avoid delays in construction.
• Prepare quick design alternatives, revisions, and site-related drawings based on management requirements or actual site conditions.
• Conduct regular site visits and inspections to verify that construction is being carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and management requirements.
• Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site execution, coordination issues, and unauthorized deviations, and recommend necessary corrective action.
• Coordinate required drawing revisions and site clarifications with the external architect, consultants, contractors, and project/construction team.
• Check important architectural elements such as wall locations, room sizes, door and window positions, floor levels, staircases, faade/elevations, finishes, and other architectural details during construction.
• Support the site team in resolving day-to-day architectural queries and ensure that architectural issues do not unnecessarily delay project progress.
• Maintain proper coordination between architectural drawings and structural, PEB, MEP, fire-safety, civil, and other specialist drawings.
• Ensure that structural, statutory, fire-safety, and specialist engineering designs are not modified without proper coordination and approval from the respective responsible consultant.
• Maintain updated architectural drawings, revisions, client comments, and site changes to ensure that the latest approved information is being followed during construction.
