Image Editor (E-commerce Product Images)

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Image Editor to join our e-commerce image processing team.

The role involves editing and standardizing product images for online catalogues while maintaining strict quality and visual standards.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Adobe Photoshop, product image editing, background removal, masking, cropping, resizing, retouching and shadow creation.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and process product images according to defined e-commerce image standards.
• Use Photoshop for cropping, resizing, canvas expansion, background removal and image retouching.
• Standardize product images to 1600 1600 px, 1:1 ratio.
• Maintain sRGB colour profile and 72 DPI.
• Ensure a clean pure white (#FFFFFF) background where required.
• Maintain minimum 10% / 160 px safety margins around the product.
• Ensure products are horizontally centred and properly aligned to the bottom margin.
• Create, retain and calibrate product shadows to the required standard.
• Correct perspective and tilt issues using approved AI-assisted tools where required.
• Work with image masks and layered Photoshop files.
• Preserve dimension labels, callouts and measurement arrows where applicable.
• Process different image groups such as lifestyle, centred and edge-touching product images according to the defined workflow.
• Export final images in WebP format with file size below 200 KB.
• Follow strict original file naming conventions files must not be renamed or modified.
• Perform final quality checks before submitting image batches.
• Identify image quality issues and correct them before delivery.
• Work efficiently on high-volume image processing projects while maintaining accuracy and consistency.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.
• Experience in e-commerce/product image editing.
• Good understanding of background removal, masking and retouching.
• Experience with product image cropping, resizing and canvas expansion.
• Knowledge of shadows, alignment and product positioning.
• Understanding of RGB/sRGB colour profiles and image dimensions.
• Good attention to detail and visual quality.
• Ability to follow SOPs and predefined image standards.
• Ability to handle large volumes of images within deadlines.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with furniture, home dcor, lighting, appliances or other e-commerce products.
• Experience with AI-assisted image editing tools.
• Knowledge of Photoroom or similar image processing tools.
• Experience working with automated Photoshop actions/scripts.
• Experience with WebP conversion and image optimization.

Important

Candidates must be comfortable working with strict image quality standards and repetitive, high-volume e-commerce image editing workflows. Accuracy, consistency and attention to detail are critical for this role.
