    About this role

    Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced HR Manager who will act as a generalist across both our India and US locations. You will oversee day-to-day HR operations, lead recruitment, and manage facilities, while staying hands-on with execution. This role suits someone who can set up good processes, handle the operational details themselves, and work across two countries and time zones with confidence.

    Key Responsibilities

    HR Operations and Compliance

    • Manage the full employee lifecycle across both locations: onboarding, confirmations, transfers, separations, and exit formalities.
    • Own payroll inputs, attendance, leave, and benefits administration in coordination with payroll providers or internal finance.
    • Maintain employee records and HRIS data accurately, and ensure policies are current and consistently applied.
    • Ensure compliance with local labour laws. In India, this includes PF, ESI, gratuity, professional tax, Shops and Establishments registrations, and POSH obligations. In the US, this includes federal and state employment requirements, I-9 verification, and benefits compliance
    • Handle employee queries, grievances, and disciplinary matters in a fair, documented, and confidential manner.
    • Prepare HR reports and dashboards (headcount, attrition, leave, compliance status) for leadership.

    Recruitment

    • Own end-to-end hiring for both locations: requisition intake, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer management, and joining formalities.
    • Work with hiring managers to define role requirements and interview processes.
    • Manage relationships with recruitment agencies, job boards, and campus or employer-branding channels.
    • Track recruitment metrics such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and offer acceptance rates.
    • Support a consistent candidate experience across India and US hiring processes, including any cross-border hiring considerations.

    Facilities and Workplace Administration

    • Oversee office operations in both locations: space planning, seating, supplies, housekeeping, and maintenance.
    • Manage vendor relationships and contracts for facilities services (housekeeping, security, pantry, AMC, utilities, courier, and similar).
    • Coordinate workplace safety, fire and emergency drills, and statutory safety inspections as required.
    • Manage the budget for facilities and admin, and track spend against it.
    • Support travel, visa-related logistics, and coordination where needed.

    Hands-On Generalist Work

    • Handle HR queries and tasks directly rather than only delegating them.
    • Support employee engagement initiatives, events, and recognition programs.
    • Contribute to policy drafting and process improvement across both locations.
    • Act as a point of coordination between the India and US teams on HR matters.

    Qualifications

    • Masters degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • 10 to 15 years of HR generalist experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or lead role.
    • Working knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance. Familiarity with US employment law and multi-state compliance is strongly preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience in full-cycle recruitment, including for mid-level and senior roles.
    • Experience managing facilities or admin functions, or coordinating vendors and budgets.
    • Experience working with a team or stakeholders across more than one country.
    • Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems, and strong skills in Excel or Google Sheets.

    Key Competencies

    • Operational discipline: Keeps processes accurate, documented, and on schedule.
    • Confidentiality and judgement: Handles sensitive employee matters with discretion and fairness.
    • Cross-cultural communication: Works well with teams in different countries and time zones.
    • Hands-on ownership: Takes tasks from start to finish without needing close supervision.
    • Stakeholder management: Builds trust with employees, managers, and leadership.
    • Adaptability: Manages competing priorities in a growing organization.
