HR and Compliance Intern

Behind every great team is someone who knows exactly where the offer letter is.

Neary is a people-first app for real-world connection, built by a young, fully remote team of 12+, all in our 20s. We move fast, we build things from scratch, and we need someone who makes sure the people side of it all runs beautifully.

We're not hiring a person to tick boxes. We're hiring a future leader who wants real responsibility from day one.

What you'll actually do

• Be the keeper of our company policies: write them, update them, and make sure they're actually followed
• Hire new people: sourcing, screening, scheduling, and finding the ones who'd love it here
• Onboard every new joiner so their first week feels warm, clear, and a little bit exciting
• Own our documents and records: offer letters, agreements, trackers, everything organised and easy to find
• Run the inbox: keep email communication sharp, timely, and professional
• Spot gaps before they become problems, and fix them without being asked
• Ask why do we do it this way and make it better

What we hope you bring

• A leadership mindset: you take ownership, make calls, and finish what you start
• Clear, kind communication, written and spoken
• Organised to the point where your folders have folders
• Attention to detail, because one wrong date on a document matters
• Curiosity about HR, people operations, and how companies run behind the scenes
• Comfort with Google Workspace, spreadsheets, and email tools (or the hunger to learn fast)
• Discretion. People trust us with their information, and you'll protect it.
• Currently in college or recently graduated, based in India

No HR degree needed. If you're sincere, sharp, and eager to grow, we can teach the rest.

The details

• Mode: Remote
• Hours: flexible, work whenever you're in flow, as long as the work gets done beautifully
• Duration: 8 weeks, extendable for the right person
• Team: a young, chill crew of 10+, all in our 20s, no hierarchy theatre
• Team meetups: once a month, entirely optional, snacks non-negotiable
