About this role
- Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities across hospital areas.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in patient rooms, wards, ICUs, OT areas, corridors, and common areas.
- Allocate duties and prepare shift schedules for housekeeping staff.
- Monitor staff attendance, grooming, discipline, and performance.
- Ensure proper cleaning and disinfection procedures as per hospital infection-control standards.
- Monitor the use and availability of cleaning materials, chemicals, equipment, and consumables.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintain housekeeping quality standards.
- Coordinate with Nursing, Administration, Maintenance, and Infection Control teams.
- Train housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, PPE usage, waste handling, and safety practices.
- Ensure proper segregation and disposal of biomedical and general waste as per hospital guidelines.
- Maintain housekeeping checklists, inspection reports, attendance, and other required records.
- Handle housekeeping-related complaints and take immediate corrective action.
- Monitor linen collection, distribution, and replacement in coordination with the concerned departments.
- Ensure safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Support hospital audits, inspections, accreditation requirements, and infection-control initiatives.
