Role Description The Home Consultant role at Pepperfry is a full-time, on-site position based in Kolkata. The Home Consultant supports customers in the Studio by understanding their lifestyle, space requirements and budget, and recommending suitable furniture and décor solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include greeting and engaging visitors, conducting needs assessments, presenting product options, and creating personalized room layouts or home styling suggestions. The role involves managing product displays, staying updated on the latest collections and promotions, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure accurate orders, timely deliveries and a smooth customer experience. The Home Consultant also contributes to sales targets, maintains high service standards, and helps build long-term relationships with customers.
Qualifications

• Customer service and client relationship skills to understand needs, provide thoughtful recommendations and ensure a positive in-Studio experience.
• Sales and consultative selling abilities to guide assisted buying journeys, convert inquiries into orders and support achievement of business targets.
• Home styling, interior sensibility and space planning skills to help customers visualize layouts, color schemes and product combinations that suit their homes.
• Communication and interpersonal skills, including clear verbal communication, active listening and confidence in interacting with diverse customers.
• Basic digital and technical proficiency to use store systems, catalog tools, CRM or POS software and coordinate orders and inventories.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple customer requirements, product information and follow-ups accurately.
• Prior experience in retail, furniture, home décor, or interior consulting is preferred but not mandatory; training or certification in interior design is an added advantage.
• Ability to work on-site in Kolkata, including weekends or peak retail hours as required, and collaborate effectively within a Studio team.
