Job Brief

We are hiring a Senior Executive – QC to inspect and approve page layouts, typography, and prepress files for books, academic journals, and ebooks before final client delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Typography & Layout: Check proofs and PDFs for font accuracy, margins, kerning, leading, and style guide compliance.
  
• Content Verification: Inspect complex tables, math equations (MathType/LaTeX), figure placement, footnotes, and cross-references.
  
• Preflight Checks: Validate image DPI, color modes (CMYK/RGB), bleeds, trim marks, and embedded fonts.
  
• Digital QC: Verify ePub/MOBI deliverables for XML/HTML tagging, reflow behavior, hyperlinks, and accessibility standards (WCAG).
  
• Quality Assurance: Log formatting defects, conduct root-cause analysis, and train junior proofreaders/typesetters.
  

Requirements

• Experience: 4–8 years in typesetting/publishing QC (prepress, academic, STM, or trade).
  
• Education: Graduate degree in Design, Printing Technology, Mass Communication, English, or related fields.
  
• Key Software: Adobe InDesign, Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, MathType/LaTeX, and PDF comparison tools (e.g., PitStop Pro).
  
• Skills: Strong eye for detail, sharp English command, and solid prepress/e-pub workflow knowledge.
