Role & responsibilities

. Accounts Payable & Payments

• Execute payment releases through SAP, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timely execution.
• Recording of expenses and provisions in line with business requirements.
• Validate payment requests and ensure safe and timely receipt of funds by counterparties.
• Monitor cash balances and coordinate with Treasury for timely cash funding.
• Provide backup support to other Accounts Payable team members to ensure continuity of payment processes.

2. Reconciliation & Financial Data Integrity

• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve outstanding items on a timely basis.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data across trading portfolios, including inventory, broker activity and mark-to-market balances.
• Reconcile SAP balance sheet accounts with transactions and balances generated from the Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) system.
• Perform intercompany and external counterparty reconciliations between ETRM and SAP and ensure timely resolution of differences.

3. Financial Close & Reporting

• Support month-end closing activities, including completion of reconciliations and closure of outstanding items.
• Coordinate with financial reporting teams to provide accurate information for group-level reporting.

Support in preparation of management reporting packs.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualified Chartered Accountant with 36 years of relevant experience in financial accounting, corporate accounting or accounts payable

• Hands on experience in end to end financials preparations as per IND AS and IFRS
• Experience in month-end/year-end closing, reconciliations, journal posting and financial reporting.
• Working knowledge of SAP or another ERP system is preferred.
• Experience in a multinational, corporate or trading environment would be preferred.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
