Job Description

The Content Writer will be responsible for developing clear, accurate, engaging, and platform-specific content for social media, digital campaigns, websites, press communication, events, and departmental initiatives. The role will coordinate with the Social Media Manager and respective departments to understand requirements and convert information into effective communication content.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Content Development: Write social media posts, captions, articles, blogs, website content, announcements, and campaign copy.
• Social Media Content: Develop engaging and platform-specific copy for Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other platforms.
• Departmental Content: Convert information, updates, schemes, achievements, events, and initiatives received from departments into audience-friendly content.
• Campaign Copywriting: Develop creative copy, taglines, headlines, campaign messages, and call-to-action content.
• Research & Fact Checking: Research relevant topics and verify facts, figures, names, dates, and other information before publication.
• Content Calendar: Support the Social Media Manager in developing and maintaining content calendars.
• Website & Blog Content: Prepare and update website content, blogs, articles, FAQs, and other digital communication materials.
• Event Content: Develop pre-event, live-event, and post-event content for campaigns, festivals, government programs, and public events.
• SEO Content: Create basic SEO-friendly website and digital content using relevant keywords and appropriate content structures.
• Editing & Proofreading: Review content for grammar, spelling, readability, tone, accuracy, and consistency.
• Coordination: Work closely with Social Media Executives, Graphic Designers, Video Editors, and department representatives to ensure content is delivered on time.
• Revisions: Incorporate client/department feedback and make required changes within agreed timelines.
• Content Repository: Maintain an organized database of approved content, captions, campaign copies, and reference materials.

Key Competencies

• 3+ years of professional experience in content writing, copywriting, digital communication, or social media content.
• Excellent English writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Strong ability to simplify complex information into clear and engaging communication.
• Good understanding of social media platforms and digital content formats.
• Strong research and fact-checking skills.
• Ability to write in different tones and formats based on the target audience and platform.
• Good understanding of SEO and digital content practices.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and work within tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
